Slaughter Beach, Dog – Nov. 17 at Webster Hall
Touring for the release of their latest album, “Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling,” indie rockers Slaughter Beach, Dog take their rustic sound to Webster Hall. The band’s latest album features a more country sound as lead singer Jake Ewald sings vivid stories about love and heartbreak, taking inspiration from the likes of Bob Dylan and Paul Simon on tracks like “Bobcat Club” and “Easter.” Slaughter Beach, Dog’s catchy and light-hearted songs feel familiar and urge the audience to sing along with band members.
Charly Bliss – Nov. 21 at Baby’s All Right
After a four-year break, the 90s-inspired rock band Charly Bliss is back with their single “I Need a New Boyfriend,” a sweet pop track led by the unique vocals of lead singer Eva Hendricks that sounds like the lovechild of 100 Gecs and Veruca Salt. To celebrate the long-awaited release, the Brooklyn four-piece is playing Baby’s All Right with support from Peach Fuzz-a supergroup consisting of Samia, Raffaella, Sara L’Abriola (known professionally as Hank) and Victoria Zaro (Ryann). Charly Bliss is electric when playing live and promises a night of heavy-hitting guitar solos and amazing performances.
Earl Sweatshirt with The Alchemist – Nov. 22 at Terminal 5
“VOIR DIRE,” released early last month, pairs The Alchemist’s slick production with rapper Earl Sweatshirt’s free-thought, baritone flow. The duo are longtime collaborators and friends with wonderful chemistry exuding through music and live shows who act more like they’re just hanging out rather than performing. Seeing The Alchemist with Earl Sweatshirt is like watching two really funny guys have a conversation with some songs in between it. With support from Black Noi$e and MIKE, two regular collaborators with the duo, this Terminal 5 show serves as a reunion of friends and playing the biggest hits of their career. Knowing the duo, there’s also a great chance more special guests may be in store…
The Drin, True Body, Crime of Passing, The Eyedrops, Annex Girls – Nov. 26 at TV Eye
A more lowkey show, this five-band bill is only $15 to see some of the most interesting acts in indie rock and post-punk. Headliner The Drin is touring in support of their latest album, “Today My Friend You Drunk the Venom,” a kickass, guitar-heavy project with gothic undertones. Digital goth rock group True Body, who has had an intense year touring with acts like Portrayal of Guilt, Choir Boy and Lil Ugly Mane, brings their dramatic and unique sound to the tiny TV Eye room. The Eyedrops, a sweet and shoegazey indie rock project, are local to New York City, with one EP out exclusively on Bandcamp. Support local artists and cool music by coming out to this show.
George Clanton – Nov. 29 at Warsaw
Indietronica musician George Clanton has spent the majority of the year touring on top of putting out a new album, “Ooh Rap I Ya,” and is bringing his insatiably zestful live show to Warsaw at the end of the month. With support from electropop duo Bodysync and glitchy dance music group Fcukers, Clanton’s show will be a night of non-stop dancing and good vibes.
Jazmin Bean – Nov. 30 at Baby’s All Right
British musician Jazmin Bean has been making noise on the internet for years now with their eccentric and detailed aesthetic of cute Sanrio-core mixed with extreme gore. The aesthetic never feels constraining to Bean’s music; rather, it enhances the sound of indie-pop mixed with electronic metal that the visual artist and musician delivers. The Terrified Tour is Bean’s first headlining tour in the United States and is unlike any other show brought to the stage in both style and music. Jazmin Bean’s beautiful voice and sardonic lyrics wrapped in childlike whimsy is an unreal experience live.
Fenne Lilly – Dec. 4 at The Broadway
UK-born, New York-based singer-songwriter Fenne Lilly is playing The Broadway in support of her April 2023 release, “Big Picture.” Lilly’s earnest songwriting has been drawing in listeners for years as she continues to learn and grow as a human being and insert those new life experiences into her music. Supporting Lilly is L.A. singer-songwriter Sofia Wolfson, whose pleasant voice and guitar playing reflect the work of artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Lizzy McAlpine.
Show Me the Body – Dec. 5 at TV Eye
After a humongous world tour and release of a live album, the hardcore three-piece is coming back to Brooklyn for their smallest show in years at TV Eye. Combining experimental noise with rap, metal and country at times, Show Me The Body’s unique intensity shines through at every show and brings on a night of moshing and crowd surfing. The band and venue are giving 100% of its earnings to the “Palestinian Youth Movement” and “Within Our Lifetime” fundraisers to support Palestinians in Gaza. With support from gothic new-wave group Blu Anxxiety, Arab hardcore band Pure Terror, garage rockers LICKS and a DJ set from New York native Hellotones, Show Me The Body’s return to Brooklyn is set to be an insane one.
