West Coast natives Neon Trees, whose new album Pop Psychology was released this spring, have been gearing up for their busy summer of touring and promoting their album. In the midst of the band’s promotional schedule, The Pace Press was able to catch up with lead singer Tyler Glenn.
The band talked about the reception from fans, who are hearing cuts from the band’s new album for the first time.
“We played most of the new album and its great because the fans seem to know it and sing right along,” said Glenn.
“Sleeping With A Friend,” the bands first single off the album, has been getting an amazing reaction from fans—and has become a radio hit. Glenn and the band seem to be enjoying the success of the song, saying, “That song never gets old. It’s Great start to finish. There is something really effortless about it.”
As for the rest of the band’s show, Glenn says fans should expect the unexpected: “A lot of energy, I’m pretty relentless as a front man. Our shows are entertaining [and] kind of spectacular, very theatrical.”
Neon Trees will play at Central Park’s Summer Stage on July 7 as well as on the Today Show on August 15.
