Emily Shafer, News Editor
Emily Shafer is a junior at the University double majoring in English Language & Literature, with a concentration in creative writing, and Film & Screen Studies. This is her first year in The Pace Press, and she is excited to bring her editing expertise to the newspaper. Her creative passion is poetry, but as she has gotten more involved in various classes and clubs at the University, she has realized her love for editing and journalism.
Aside from working for The Pace Press, she also works for the Film and Screen Studies Department at the University as their student aide. After graduating from the University in Fall 2023, she plans on pursuing her MFA in New York to help start her career in writing and editing. Outside of academia, she is happiest spending time outside, petting dogs, taking care of her 25+ plants and working to incorporate more sustainability in her life. In her free time, you can catch her at local parks, hanging out with her friends, planning her next overseas adventure or, of course, reading the latest breaking news.
