It’s officially spooky season in New York City, and when it comes to Halloween, no one does it better than the University students! Of course, no Halloween is truly complete without a fabulous costume and a delicious cocktail (or mocktail) in hand. Thankfully, The Pace Press has put together a list of all the best and spookiest cocktails around the city to ensure that this Halloween is the most memorable one yet.

Doom and The Three Witches at The Cauldron NYC

Calling all witches, wizards, and warlocks! For anyone looking to dabble in the art of potion-making this Halloween, look no further than The Cauldron on Stone Street. Light-weights beware because the Cauldron’s Doom cocktail isn’t for the faint of heart. This dangerous mix of Demerara sugar, cherry, lime, and Fireball is sure to make even the most powerful witches lose their balance. For covens on the hunt for a drink to share, The Three Witches pitcher is the drink for you. This magical potion blends passion fruit, lime, Demerara sugar, and Caribbean rum for a smooth and delicious taste that will have you dancing until you die!

Goodnight Kiss and the Light & Stormy at MadameX

If you’re a vampire looking to satisfy your bloodlust, then MadameX might just be the perfect place to kick off your Halloweekend! New York’s self-proclaimed sexiest bar in the city has plenty of cocktails for a deadly creature of the night like yourself. This is Halloween Cocktail at Beetle House

Tim Burton fans will want to spend all of Hallow’s Eve at Beetle House in the East Village! With a cocktail list full of drinks inspired by Burton’s numerous iconic spooky movies, visitors will have a difficult time trying to choose just one drink off the menu. Luckily, Beetle House staff recommend the This is Halloween Cocktail based on the 1993 film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. This cocktail, complete with cinnamon liquor, sour apple pucker, pumpkin liqueur, apple cider, and ginger beer, tastes exactly like autumn in a cup and is bound to give your Halloween a cozy kick!

Death in the E’Ville at Cafe de L’Enfer

For those hoping to spend Halloween just beyond the gates of Hell, Cafe de L’Enfer has you covered. The dark atmosphere in this exclusive absinthe and champagne bar, inspired by Victoria-era Paris, will leave you in a trance. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your stay in the underworld with a Death in the E’ville cocktail. This intoxicating blend of vert, peach liqueur, and champagne is bound to have you mingling with all the most evil Hallow’s Eve creatures.

Although Halloween celebrations can be enjoyable without the help of a crafty cocktail, this year’s spooky festival marks two years since the last normal Hallow’s Eve before the pandemic which means that University students are more than ready to let loose! Whether you’re dancing the night away in a club with a ghoulish cocktail in hand or laughing with friends at a bar while sipping on a yummy mocktail, remember to stay safe, stay spooky, and have fun!
